Emmy Scarterfield admits that her designs often originate far from the usual fashion influences – with insects, architecture, chairs, umbrellas and tiling all playing a role in shaping collections in the past. Emmy’s iconic shoe collections have started life as a sketch of a portico above a door, have been inspired by mermaids and other magical, mythical creatures of the sea, and her recent and most coveted collection, the Cancello collection, was inspired whilst Emmy was on holiday with her husband and twin daughters.

These inspirations begin Emmy’s design process. An extensive mood board soon becomes a collection of sketches, that Emmy redrafts and refines until she is confident she has created a balanced collection of styles, keeping every bride-to-be’s personal style in mind.

Emmy then sees her ideas come to life when the workshop begins sampling materials and creating her intricate designs. The final stage is to try them all on and ensure they are perfect in terms of fit and comfort, two key and integral ingredients to our luxury brand.
