Thinking of getting your ears pierced? Here's what you can expect when you use the ear piercing service at H.Samuel.
We have many options for your ear piercing. From your first pair of studs to your third set for that extra style edge.
You may feel nervous or unsure about getting your ears pierced. That's perfectly normal, but we're here to help. Here are some frequently asked questions about the process.
The ear piercing service at H.Samuel is free when you buy any set of piercing earrings.
Ear piercings are usually the least painful kind of body piercing. All our piercing earrings have ultra-thin piercing posts, which aid faster healing and help to minimise any discomfort.
Our ear piercing service is available for adults, and children over the age of 7 years. Children will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Photo ID is required, so please bring a passport or driving licence with you.
Before the procedure, we will take you through the relevant forms that need to be signed. Once this is done, the ear piercing specialist will then clean and mark your earhole. When the piercing is complete, the specialist will take you through the aftercare.
After the piercing, you have six weeks until you can change your earrings, but before then there are things you need to ensure you do to make sure your ears heal perfectly. Follow the tips and advice below to help you through the healing process.
It is vital that you follow all of the aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing of your newly pierced ears. Persistent redness or swelling indicates an infection or that your body cannot tolerate a foreign object. Should any of these conditions exist 24 hours after your piercing, please see your doctor immediately.
For pierced earlobes, you must leave the piercing earrings in for six weeks before changing to new earrings. Follow the steps below to ensure proper aftercare of your pierced ears.
For the first six months, do not go longer than 24 hours without earrings to prevent the hole from closing.
In many cases, returning to proper aftercare procedures will clear up an irritation that develops in the earlobe. Check to see if earrings are too tight. Loosen if necessary, and continue cleansing with ear care solution three times a day.
If the problem continues, SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.
Please note: Pain, redness and swelling are not a normal result of ear piercing and can lead to infection. Should pain, redness or swelling appear any time more than 24 hours after the piercing, see your doctor immediately.
Sometimes redness and swelling experienced after piercing is due to a metal allergy, not an infection. Nickel used for strength in many metal alloys, is the most common metal allergen.
All Inverness piercing earrings meet the most stringent global standards for nickel release requirements, the European Union Directive 94/27/EC-the Nickel Directive (Reach ANNEX XVII). All of our gold products have very low nickel content - less than 0.025%.
Our surgical grade titanium earrings are 100% nickel-free, providing maximum peace of mind for people with known nickel allergies.
