Uses for Palladium

Another use for palladium in jewellery is as an alloy for gold, making white gold. Other white gold alloys include nickel and silver. Palladium white gold, however is more expensive than other versions.

Palladium Facts

From the platinum group of metals that includes platinum, iridium, ruthenium and azmium, Palladium has similar chemical properties to the other metals in the group, but has the lowest melting point and is the least dense.

History of Palladium

Discovered in 1803 by William Hyde Wollaston, Palladium is named after the asteroid Pallas, which in turn was named after Pallas who was killed in Greek legend by Athena.
