FOREVER DIAMONDS

Last Christmas H.Samuel launched a competition for couples who purchased a Forever Diamond® ring to win £5000 towards their wedding and the exclusive opportunity of having their engagement announced in OK! Magazine. Marcus Kelly, 29, and Maryanne Knights, 27, who met three years ago in Swindon, were our lucky winners.

So how did you meet?

Maryanne: It was fate! We were complete strangers and might have simply passed each other in the street if Marcus' sister-in-law Liz wasn't so determined to play matchmaker. From there it really was love at first sight! Without Liz we wouldn't be sitting here today.

So when did you pop the question Marcus?

Marcus: I proposed to Maryanne on Christmas Eve and somehow managed to keep it a complete surprise. I was pretty sure the answer was going to be yes - after all, she'd spotted the Forever Diamond® rings in the H.Samuel brochure and stuck a picture of one up on the fridge as a pretty major hint! So I knew if ever the question was going to be popped that was definitely her dream ring.

Maryanne: I really liked the hidden diamond inside the ring band which is used to represent the 'O' in the engraved word 'Forever'.

So set the scene for us...

Marcus: Because both our families had got together for Christmas they were all in on the secret. They were all desperate to be there to watch me propose, but I wanted it to be a private moment so I whisked Maryanne off to be alone to pop the question. She was thrilled to see her
dream ring and said yes immediately.
