How to pay

We can accept credit and debit payments on the following cards, if issued in the UK:

Credit Card images

Our stores also accept High Street vouchers and Edge cards. Unfortunately Edge cards can not be accepted in Channel Island or Isle of Man stores.

Your card will be debited when we despatch your order to your selected address, or to your local store.

If you are picking up your order from a local store, you will need to go in person, and take with you the payment card you used to pay online as well as your order number. These requirements are for your peace of mind, as they allow us to ensure your details are completely secure.

Check out with PayPal

Pay securely and easily with PayPal, you can select this option when you reach the checkout. You will be redirected to the PayPal website to complete your payment. After succesful payment your order will be processed and you will be taken back to the order complete page.

Gift cards

If you have received one of our gift cards you can use it to make full or part payments on items online or in any H.Samuel store. Your gift card(s) may be used along with other payment methods. You can use up to 2 gift cards and/or insurance replacement cards combined per order.

Insurance cards

If you have received one of our eInsurance or physical cards you can use it to make full or part payments on items from H.Samuel both online or in store. Your card(s) may be used along with other payment methods.

How to use your eInsurance card

An Insurance card may be used as part or full payment on merchandise both online or in store at H.Samuel. For online purchases you will be asked on the Payment Details page in checkout if you have an Insurance card, simply click the button within the cards section to enter your card number (19 digits) and your pin number (8 digits). The payments will be taken from the card(s) in the order that you enter them on the payment page. You can use up to 2 card combinations per order.

Checking your eInsurance card balance

The initial balance value will be displayed on your eInsurance card certificate sent to your email address or on the letter you received with the physical card. If you have any queries relating to the current balance please click on the link below

For all other enquiries about your card, please contact the customer services team or speak to a representative at store.

Full Insurance card terms and conditions

  • The balance on the Insurance card can be used for purchases at H.Samuel stores and online in full or part payment.
  • A number of different expiry dates exist for the Insurance card, the expiry date for your card will be on the letter you received with the physical card or underneath the eInsurance card image if emailed.
  • Insurance cards may not be exchanged for cash or other vouchers or used as a deposit on a credit agreement.
  • No change will be given when an Insurance card is used to purchase goods or services but the balance may be applied to future purchases.
  • As we do not collect information about Insurance card customer transactions, we cannot replace or reimburse the value of the card if that value has been removed due to being lost, stolen or damaged. If your card is lost, stolen or damaged you should contact the customer services team or speak to a representative at store immediately.
  • The Insurance card can be spent on any goods or services online only up to the value held on the Insurance card.
  • The Insurance card is not a cheque guarantee, credit, debit or charge card.
  • H.Samuel reserves the right to amend the terms applying to Insurance cards at any time. Any such change and action to be taken as a result will be given in advance by notices in all H.Samuel stores.

Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode

Our online transactions are Verified by Visa to give you extra peace of mind. When you reach the payment page, you will be given the option of signing up to Verified by VISA to make sure that using your card online is safe, simple and convenient.

It is a new service that allows you to protect your card with a password. You can sign up using your existing card and use this with each H.Samuel transaction, but you can choose not to use it at all.

Please note orders will only be despatched once we have authorisation from your payment card issuer. We will not be liable for delay or non-delivery that arises as a result of authorisation problems.


Prices throughout the website are quoted in Pounds Sterling, and payment can only be accepted in Pounds Sterling. Prices include VAT; delivery and packing costs and will be added to the total.

Voucher codes

What is a voucher code?

A voucher code allows you to take advantage of special discounts and offers. Voucher codes are issued by email, in-store, by post, in magazines, newspapers and though other promotional literature.

Where can I redeem my voucher code?

Voucher codes that have been issued by email can only be redeemed at

Voucher codes that have been issued by an H.Samuel store or by post can usually be redeemed at or in any H.Samuel store but please refer to the terms and conditions of the offer.

How do I use my voucher code online?

When you have qualifying items in your shopping basket, simply enter the voucher code in the 'Complimentary voucher code' field and click on 'Apply'. The discount or offer will automatically be applied to your shopping basket.

If you have applied your voucher code but decide to continue shopping or edit your order before paying, the code will remain in your basket. You will not need to enter it again when you proceed through checkout.

If you have applied your voucher code but decide to exit the website before proceeding through checkout, the code will be removed from your basket. You will have to re-enter it when you visit our website again.

I have entered my voucher code but the discount/offer has not been applied.

If the discount or offer has not been applied, a message telling you why will be displayed at the top of your shopping basket. Here are the main reasons why the discount or offer may not have been applied.

  1. Your order does not qualify
    Please check that the items in your basket meet the offer criteria by referring to the terms and conditions. For example, most voucher codes are only valid on full price items and exclude certain brands.
  2. Your voucher code is not valid
    You may have mis-typed the code we provided you with. Please check and try again.
  3. Your voucher code has already been used
    Voucher codes can only be used once so make sure that you have not previously redeemed your code.
  4. The voucher code you used is not yet active or has expired
    Voucher codes are valid for a certain period only and must be presented within that time. Please refer to the terms and conditions of the offer to check that the offer has started or that it has not ended.

Voucher codes offering a discount cannot be used for the purchase of gift cards, repairs, cleaning products, accessories, warranties or insurance replacements and may exclude certain brands. Voucher codes offerin a discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion, coupon, discount or offer. If an order or part of an order is cancelled, the voucher code will become invalid. Voucher codes have a valid period during which they must be presented.
